San Luis Obispo, 2251 Meadow St

I drove up to San Luis Obispo a few weeks ago to meet Ralph and Dave, a couple of the members who’ve been organizing the local LARP there, and had a really great time. I was curious about LARPing in general, having never LARPed, and they were able to give me a very comprehensive introduction to Amtgard and sparred with me a few times to get my blood pumping a bit (It was WAY more fun than I would have ever guessed). A few hours and a mild sunburn later, and I was converted! I will be trying to attend this LARP as often as possible whenever I can spare a Saturday. Thank you Dave and Ralph for the friendly introduction to live action roleplaying.
Saturdays 1p - 4p every week, no costumes necessary, but bring sunblock, water, and pants you don’t mind getting grass stained.

A Massive Battletech 40,000 Point Showdown at Gordon’s Good Games in Atascadero, CA

Monday Night Battletech at Gordon’s Good Game, hosted by West Coast Irregulars and Central Coast Games, was a thrilling Battletech battle dubbed "Operation Spearbreaker," which pitted two unidentified mercenary forces against each other. The objective was Mech Destruction, and the battle took place in New Pittsburgh, Chertan. Led by Commanding Officers Courtney and Rob, the forces showcased their strategic skills in a fierce showdown.
Courtney's Mercenary Force A consisted of the 474th Assault Star, 711th Striker Star, and 814th Battle Star. Rob commanded Mercenary Force B with the 642nd Command Star, 138th Vehicle Star, and 918th Assault Star. With a total of 15 mechs and combat vehicles, both sides boasted impressive firepower.
The battle started with a well-balanced deployment, with Courtney's forces positioned in the city and Rob's forces securing the outskirts. In the second turn, Courtney's 711th Striker Star displayed exceptional speed, punching through Rob's frontline and gaining control of the middle ground. As the battle progressed, intense exchanges of fire resulted in the destruction of several mechs on both sides.
In the third turn, Courtney's Dasher mech executed a daring maneuver, damaging Rob's Annihilator. However, the Annihilator retaliated, obliterating the Dasher. The fourth turn saw Rob's forces gaining momentum, pushing Courtney's units onto the defensive. Courtney's Daishi mech exacted revenge by destroying one of Rob's Mad Cats.
The fifth turn proved decisive, with Rob's forces overwhelming Courtney's defenses. The Timberwolves dismantled key mechs, while Rob's vehicular forces closed in on Courtney's remaining units.
